The Edinburgh Premier Art Awards exhibition - a celebration
For the sixteenth consecutive year, we proudly support the Otago Art Society as sponsor of the annual Edinburgh Premier Art Awards.
This partnership reflects our mutual values of loyalty and a can-do attitude, of getting out there in Otago and supporting each other in our community. For artists, the exhibition is an opportunity to be involved in a prestigious event, to showcase work among peers and to a wider audience. To have your entry accepted for the awards can provide an invaluable boost, with feedback from high-calibre judges and the appreciation of your community.
This year’s exhibition has received an amazing response, with a plethora of diverse and talented entries.
We are delighted to invite you to explore this wonderful showcase. The exhibition opens to the public on 5 August and runs daily from 10am-4pm until 2 September at the Otago Art Society - OAS (Dunedin Railway Station).
This year, the exhibition judge is Graham Fletcher, whose expertise adds a special touch. Graham has been a practicing artist since 1997. His work to date as a New Zealand-born Samoan has explored complex cultural issues within a post-colonial context. These ideas formed the basis for further research and, in February 2010, he completed his Doctorate of Fine Arts at The University of Auckland. Graham lives in Dunedin, New Zealand and is Principal Lecturer at Dunedin School of Art.
Exhibition artworks are available for purchase, a great opportunity to own something special that catches your eye. View the inspiring winning entries in each category and show your support by voting for the People’s Choice Award. Help us celebrate the talent of Otago artists!
