As a problem solver, I appreciate the ongoing opportunities I get to work with both property owners and tenants to ensure their individual needs are meet. Being able to listen with empathy, understanding and a 'think outside the box' approach is important for coming up with suitable compromise and solutions that keep everyone satisfied.
Prior to my career in property management, I taught English as a Second Language (ESL) for 20 years in Taiwan, and published ESL materials for young people. In 2020 and 2023 I was the Logistics and Supplies Manager at the Electoral Commission and am also heavily involved in the organisation of the Dunedin Midwinter Carnival - a fantastic yearly event for our vibrant city.
I enjoy dealing with people of all backgrounds, preferring the personal touch of meeting in person rather than via email or text. The best part of my role is the team atmosphere in the Edinburgh office. Everyone is on the same page and working towards a united goal - continuing to be the best property management team in Dunedin. I am privileged to co-manage our team with Simone Read where our 'door is always open' approach ensures our property managers feel supported and encouraged at all times.
Away from work, I’m a keen middle distance runner and cyclist. You will find me cycling with my family most weekend's around the fantastic harbour bike tracks our city offers. I am also a member of the Otago Classic Volkswagen Club, and am actively involved at Tainui School where my son studies.
